The Pre-Law Association’s panel consisted of a talented and accomplished set of individuals. Throughout the panel, there was continuous dialogue between the students and the panelists. Panelists consisted of Professor Anupam Chander, Professor Jasmine E. Harris, Assistant Dean of Admissions Kristen Mercado, Duke University 1L David Kuwabara, and incoming USC law student Naz Etemad. Students gathered both personal experiences and professional opinions on almost all aspects of applying for law school and attending law school, including the LSAT. For the second half of the event, Dean Kristen Mercado provided insightful tips on how to write a personal statement and what to include in one’s resume. Thank you to everyone who attended, and we hope to see you all attend future PLA events in the upcoming school year.

Members of the YOLO County CASA came and spoke about their personal experiences and insights in their advocacy for foster youths. Along with tips and advice, they informed those at the event about the process of becoming involved-from the application to the orientation, to the duration of the process. CASA is always looking for volunteers, and hopes that there are those who are interested in being committed to helping a youth.
